1. NPCI LAUNCHES NIPL TO TAKE UPI AND RUPAY TO GLOBAL MARKETS.

According to Press release, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has formed a new entity called NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) which will popularize Indian Payment technologies like UPI, Rupay in foreign markets. According to reports, Ritesh Shukla has been appointed as CEO of NIPL by NPCI. The agency said, "NPCI has achieved success at developing a robust payments system that is cost effective, secure, convenient and instantaneous. Several nations have displayed an inclination towards establishing a ‘real time payment system’ or ‘domestic card scheme’ inspired by the exemplary innovations by NPCI in the country". 






2. DMRC LAUNCHES INDIA'S FIRST PERSONALIZED METRO CARD.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has unveiled a new type of smart card which has auto-recharge feature that will help the commuters to buy tickets without waiting in the long queue. This card will automatically recharge when scanned at Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gate or entry gate thus promoting contact-less and cash-less travel in the metro. DMRC has partnered with AutoPe company for this new system. Dr. Mangu Singh, Managing Director, DMRC, said, "This new feature empowers a commuter to get his/her smart card auto topped up at AFC (entry) gates across the network which will help him/her to have seamless travel without worrying about top-up from time to time" .This system will be introduced to passengers once the metro services are back after the pandemic. 3. GMAIL AND OTHER GOOGLE SERVICES WERE DOWN BUT NOW ALL NORMAL.

Gmail and other Google online services were facing issues on Friday August 20, 2020. People globally were not able to attach and send mails through Gmail. Similar problems were also detected with Google docs and Google Drive. Social media was filled with complaints and memes about the same. However, there were no clarifications from the side of Google. Now the services are restored  and back to normal.

4. HYPERION XP-1 : THE HYDROGEN POWERED SUPERCAR.

Hyperion, a Californian company, has introduced a new hydrogen powered supercar named "Hyperion XP-1" . This cool supercar uses fuel cells for power generation using compressed hydrogen gas. Compressed hydrogen is mixed with oxygen from the air in the fuel cells to initiate a reaction. This reaction will produce huge amount of energy to power up the vehicle and gives water as a byproduct, instead of smoke. Company claims that with a single tank of hydrogen , this super car will run upto 1000 miles. As hydrogen is one of the lightest gas, it will also reduce car's weight thus providing more mileage per litre. However company has not revealed the pricings of this car. 5. NCERT SURVEY STATES THAT 27% STUDENTS DONT'T HAVE SMARTPHONES OR LAPTOPS FOR ONLINE CLASSES.

National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) had recently conducted a survey which reveals that almost 27% students cannot attend online classes as they don't have smartphones or laptops. Almost 28% students are facing power failures thus limiting their learning during this pandemic. Survey also states that mathematics is most difficult subject to learn online. Taking this survey into consideration, Honorable Union Education Minister of India, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, "The guidelines will help children, who do not have digital resources to get learning opportunities at their homes, with their teachers or volunteers. Apart from this, it will also help in our efforts to overcome the learning deficiencies of all those students who are learning at home through various alternative ways using radio, television, or smartphone" .
