Laptop buying guide for 2020.

Buying a laptop is definitely tougher than you might think. It's not like just grabbing any laptop but there is more about it.You should know each and every aspect of the laptop that you might end up buying. And if you are supposed to buy then do consider reading this whole blog because we are about to discuss about it.

  1. Windows, Mac or something less?
First thing, keeping your budget in mind, you should look at the operating system that the laptop is currently running.

  • Windows:
There are many laptops running on windows. You can find a variety of laptops running on windows.
You have many choices as compared to mac as windows is used by many manufacturers like Asus, Acer, Lenovo, etc.unlike Mac OS which is only provided by Apple itself. Windows laptops are something that you can find on each and price tag so that you can choose according to it.

  • Mac OS:
If you are into apple ecosystem i.e. you have iPhone and other Apple accessories then the best thing that you can gift yourself is a mac book but definitely you will have to pay a premium for it.

  • Chromebooks:
I won't recommend buying chromebooks which run Chrome OS as there are not a lot of chromebooks available in the market as of 2020.

    2. Types of laptop.

There are different "types" of laptop in market like convertibles, thin and light, high performance, gaming etc. Do check them out and choose wisely according to your need.

    3.  Make a budget.

Budget is upto you but I will recommend to invest at least Rs 40k (min.) for the best choice.

    4. CPU.

Processors are important part of laptop. As of now I will recommend you to buy laptops powered by Intel or AMD Ryzen chips. i3, i5, i7, i9 are Intel based chips and Ryzen3, Ryzen5, Ryzen7 are AMD based chips.

  • Intel: Always look at the generation of processors. In 2020 I will recommend to buy at least a laptop having 8th gen CPU. By the way current gen is 10th gen.
  • AMD: While looking for laptops powered by AMD, choose Ryzen chips of 3000 or 4000 series.
i3 and Ryzen 3 is for very basic tasks as it is least powerful processors among the recommended ones. i5, Ryzen 5 are more powerful and can also be used for mediocre gaming. i7, i9, Ryzen 7 are the most powerful among the bunch and can handle everything that throw at it.

     5. Graphics.

If you are looking for gaming and laptop for graphics intensive tasks then you must consider looking at the GPU and definitely do a deep research about it.

    6. Storage.

HDD or SSD, more storage less speed or less storage or more speed? HDD provides more storage at less price but its processing is much slower. SSD is exact opposite of HDD but they do increase the speed of laptops.

   7. RAM.

It's all about you. The only thing that Ii recommend is to look for a laptop that comes with expandable RAM slot which can make it future proof.

   8.  Ports.

Do consider looking at the different amount of ports which makes it more versatile. Mac books generally provides with type-c thunderbolt ports. Windows laptops provide with more ports do check 'em out.

   9. Screen.

Also consider the screen size of laptops because they are available in variety of sizes.

Prices of laptops do fluctuate a lot. You can get a much better deal during a sale on Flipkart and Amazon.
If you chose a laptop then before buying don't forget to check out its full review on YouTube or Chrome.

Hope it helps you buying a perfect companion laptop. Do share your thoughts in comments below.
Thank you.
