New MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini with Apple M1 chip launched.

Apple has refreshed their laptop lineups with new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 1. inch models. They earlier this year had announced that that they will be shifting from Intel silicon ( processors ) to Apple silicon and this is their first step. With the new Apple M1 chip for Mac devices they are aiming towards improved performance, efficiency and wants their Macs to blend more easily with the Apple ecosystem. The software and hardware being their own, is expected to perform better than MacBooks with Intel chips. The MacBooks are available on Apple India online store.

MACBOOK AIR AND MACBOOK PRO:

MacBook Air and MacBook Pro both share the same looks but the Pro is heavier as compared to the Air. The metal chassis, thin and light form-factor and dimensions hasn't got any change when compared to last-gen laptops. Both the Air and Pro carries a 13.3 inch display with 2560 ✕ 1600 resolution which they call as Retina display. Both comes with non-upgradable 8GB and 16GB RAM models. Storage available is 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB SSD variants. You can select the amount of RAM and storage you want the price will increase according to your configuration. Both the MacBooks have two Thunderbolt ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. MacBooks are equipped with Magic Keyboard, Big Force Touch Track pad, Touch ID,720p webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 support.
The difference between both are: MacBook Pro features a Touch Bar which the Air lacs and also has better battery life, speakers, microphones and a faster charging brick.

APPLE M1 CHIP:

Both MacBooks and Mac Mini are powered by new Apple M1 processor and this is the highlighting part of these computers. The M1 chip has an 8-core CPU, a 8-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. Those eight core CPU contains 4 high performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The chip is built on 5nm process. With the new M1 chip Apple has integrated everything inside the chip including RAM hence remains non-upgradable by the user. The M1 CPU provides much more power in an efficient way without consuming much power. The GPU on the other hand can provide graphical performance better than the Intel integrated GPU.
Along with the hardware, they have made improvement to the MacOS Big Sur. As I said before, they can now integrate hardware and software in such a way that they both take full advantage of each other improving performance and user experience. Apple has improved app launching time, smoother animations and response time as said in their event.

The MacBook Air 13.3 inch starts in India from ₹92,900 for 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage ( configurable on apple.in website ). The MacBook Pro 13.3 inch price starts at ₹1,22,900 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. They are also available in different colours. Both MacBooks will be available from November 17th in India.

APPLE MAC MINI:

Mac Mini is another device that Apple launched in the same event. Mac Mini is again powered by same M1 chip with 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. Base model has 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage which is configurable with extra money. Mac Mini can simultaneously connect to two displays. Mac Mini carries a power port, two thunderbolt ports, HDMI 2.0, two USB-A ports, Ethernet port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.  Mac Mini Indian price starts at ₹64,900.
