LG Wing world's first swiveling phone to launch in India soon.

We saw a lot of uniqueness this year in smartphones with new folding phones, smartphones with dual displays and even LG's dual screen case which gave smartphone a secondary display. But with the Wing they have opened up one more possibility to make multitasking on smartphone fun. With the new swiveling design they have made one of the most unique phone in the market.

If you look at the specifications and features of the Wing they are similar to any midrange smartphone. Wing has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G powering it's heart which is a midrange chipset. This chipset also supports 5G which makes the phone 5G compatible technically and not practically as 5G isn't available everywhere. Dual displays ( which is different when compared to other mid-rangers ), one a 6.8 inch FHD+ OLED display which can rotate at a 90° angle which reveals the second display which is a 3.9 inch OLED  panel. The screens are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It e runs on LG's custom software skin on top of Android 10. Wing has a fairly large 4000 mAh battery and also supports Quick Charge 4.0+. Also has triple camera setup at the back with a 64MP main lens, a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 12MP ultrawide angle lens. Yes there are two ultrawide angle lens which we will talk about later. Selfie is a 32MP lens inside a pop-up mechanism. It comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage in international markets. It also supports all other necessary features that normally a midrange smartphone comes with.

All the magic happens push the screen from the right which transforms the phone into a T-shaped smartphone with dual displays. This form-factor enables you to do a lot more than you think. Now one possible way to use it is to use maps on the main big screen and navigate through your music playlist through the small secondary display. Or you can open a track pad at the bottom display and navigate through pages on Chrome which don't support mobile aspect ratio. Remember the two ultrawide lenses, the 13MP one can be used in a gimbal mode. Just hold your Wing on one hand and then you can click same stable shots and clicks from your smartphone. Or else watch YouTube on one screen and read article on other. Watch walkthrough videos of a game on one screen and play the game on another, etc.

Now, you know about the positive side let's talk about some negatives. Let it be foldable phones, dual screen phones or any other form-factor, software and app support plays a key role in the success of newly designed smartphone. No matter how good the hardware is, if software is not usable then the smartphone will definitely fail. That doesn't means LG Wing is a fail it is just the start of an experiment and the software maturity directly depends on the response of the people. Currently, Wing supports few apps and slowly the portfolio will increase.

This blog was not about encouraging you to buy the phone or about promoting the LG Wing. Instead it was about discussing the endless possibilities about what people can do with technology. LG Wing is launched internationally and will launch in India in October 28th. Let's see if this experiment works in India or not. What do you think about the same do let us know in the comments.
