NFC stands for Near Field Communication, it is a short ranged communication system which uses magnetic field induction between two devices by tapping one on other or over a short range of 4 cm without being connected to each other via Bluetooth or by other means.
- HOW IS IT USEFUL?
1. Used in file transfer.
We can share files and even contacts by keeping them near to each other.
2. Making payments via NFC enabled debit/credit cards.
New debit/credit cards are NFC enabled. So you can make use of the NFC card and can just pay your bills by tapping on the payment terminal (card swiping machine).
3. Connecting to other devices.
You can just tap your smartphone on NFC enabled Bluetooth speaker to get connected and listen to music instantly and can be also used to get connected to other devices.
4. Share your WiFi without sharing password.
Don't give your WiFi passwords to your guests instead connect their smartphones to your network by just using NFC but only if they have NFC on their smartphones.
These are only a few uses but there are so many different uses as well. But looks like it also have some disadvantages let's discuss it.
- DISADVANTAGES OF NFC.
1. Not free of risk.
If you use NFC on smartphone for payments it is safer than regular payments but if your smartphone gets hacked then can reveal all your bank details.
2. Expensive.
Bigger companies have already incorporated the technology but smaller companies have not yet used as it is expensive.
3. Newer technology.
NFC is relatively new and hence is currently not available on all smartphones.
So these were some of the cons of NFC but apart from that in near future we might be seeing much more uses of it and might use it our daily life.
Hope you got to learn something new.
Thank you.
