Google has finally launched its budget Pixel range in India in the form of Pixel 4a. Google Pixel flagship smartphones failed to compete with top-end smartphones from Samsung, Apple, etc. but last year Pixel 3a gave some hope as it was fairly well priced and came with those flagship camera experience which caught many eyes. And on October 9th Google refreshed its lineup with Pixel 4a which is priced at ₹29,999 in India. It only has one colour and storage variant, it will go on sale from October 16th via Flipkart
.
DESIGN :
Design is similar to what Pixel 3a brought with it's polycarbonate back panel housing physical fingerprint scanner and Google logo. This time they haven't opted for dual tone design instead it comes with a square camera housing. On the front it has punch hole camera cutout which is currently going on as a trend. It is 8.2mm thick and is 143 gms in weight which is quiet light weight.
DISPLAY :
The phone packs in a 5.81 inch FHD+ OLED display with punch hole camera notch, in 19.5:9 aspect ratio with 83.3% screen-to-body ratio. The phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It also has 443 ppi density (pixel per inch).
HARDWARE :
The Pixel 4a is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor which is based on 8nm Fabrication process. The CPU is paired with Adreno 618 GPU. 730G is an octa-core processor with 2x Kryo 470 Gold cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and 6x Kryo 470 silver cores clocked at 1.8 GHz.
SOFTWARE :
This smartphone runs on Vanilla Android 10 i.e. stock Android experience with Google's assurance of Software updates.
CAMERAS :
Pixel 4a packs a total of 2 cameras one on each side. The primary camera is a 12.2MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture. It supports dual pixel PDAF and OIS ( optical image stabilization ). Selfie camera is a 8MP shooter with f/2.0 lens. Main camera supports video recording of 1080@30/60/120 fps and 4k@30 fps whereas selfie camera will record 1080@30 fps. Due to the Google camera software it should be the one with best camera experience for the price.
BATTERY :
The components are juiced up by a decently large 3140 mAh battery which they say will last long. It supports 18 watt fast charging support.
OTHERS :
Pixel 4a support LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage with only one variant having 6GB + 128GB storage. Has dual stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, dual sim support with one being an e-sim, dual band Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, FM radio, and all other necessary sensors.
