Apple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini launched: All you need to know.

After a short delay, iPhones have finally launched globally in an virtual event. With it's new addition of of iPhone 12 mini Apple has officially launched four new iPhones in an event this year. We today will be covering iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 in this article and soon will post one regarding iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 mini starts at ₹69,990 whereas the iPhone 12 starts at ₹79,990.

DESIGN:

Apple has brought back their old boxy design from old-gen iPhones and this is the biggest change  so far in looks. The phones have glass sandwich build. The back of the phones have Apple logo, dual camera module whereas the front of the iPhone still carries the same notch that came with previous devices.

DISPLAY:

iPhone 12 have got significant improvement in the display department due to the introduction of OLED screens. This time the screen has more resolution, ppi density and contrast. iPhone 12 and the mini has got the same specs. iPhone 12 has a 6.1 inch FHD+ OLED panel whereas the mini has a 5.4 inch OLED panel. For protection the display has ceramic shield glass on the top which they claim to give 4x more drop protection.

HARDWARE:

Every year iPhones bring the fastest chip in the smartphone market and this year that still remains the same with it's new Apple A14 Bionic chip which six core CPU. They claim it to be 15% faster than previous gen A13 Bionic. A14 Bionic is the first chipset in the market which is build on 5nm FinFet process. You can get the new iPhone 12s with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB of storage. It retains it's Face ID on the notch.

SOFTWARE:

iPhone 12 series runs on the latest iOS 14 and will get software updates for next 5 years.

CAMERAS:

The iPhone 12 and 12 mini gets a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP main wide lens with 1.4µm size pixels and f/1.6 aperture. The primary sensor also gets OIS  with dual pixel PDAF support. Secondary i again a 12MP Ultrawide angle lens with 120° FOV (field-of-view), f/2.4 aperture. Front has a 12MP lens. The camera can record 1080p@30/60/120/240 fps and 4K@24/30/60 fps. It also supports Dolby Vision HDR video and stereo sound recording.

BATTERY:

Apple never mentions the battery capacity but have claimed that 12 mini will deliver upto 15 hours of video playback and 12 will give 17 hours of multimedia experience. It gets a new charging method which they call as MagSafe system which is similar to wireless charger but connects the iPhones via magnets and charges it at 15 watts. Apple from this year will not supply wall chargers in the box instead you have to buy it separately if needed.

OTHERS:

The phone is IP68 water proof , has lightning port at the bottom, Face ID, and all other necessary features and sensors. The iPhone 12 and 12 mini comes in White, Black, Blue, Green and Red variants.
