1. AIR INDIA PLANE CRASHES IN KOZHIKODE AIRPORT.
Air India Express Flight IX - 1334 crashed on Friday night while landing on Kozhikode airport, Kerala, with 190 passengers onboard. The plane was bringing back Indians from Dubai as a part of "Vande Bharat Mission" . While landing at the table top airport, the plane skidded off as it was raining heavily and fell into the valley 35 feet below and broke into two portions. According to reports, 18 people including the two pilots were dead and rest of them were rescued. 23 people are in critical conditions at hospitals. According to unnamed source, the pilot switched off the engine before the crash thus saving the lives of the passengers. The officials are investigating about this accident for more clarifications. Honorable Prime Minister of India, Government of Kerala and Air India have announced compensation for the families of those who died in this incident.
2. SAMSUNG'S UNPACKED EVENT.
Samsung has launched their new product lineup which includes Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Z fold 2, Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Tab S7. They have announced price of Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra in India. Note 20 is priced at INR 77,499/- and Note 20 Ultra at INR 1,04,999/- . Other products will be announced in India soon.
3. NOKIA CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE AT IISC, BENGALURU.
According to reports, Nokia is going to setup a robotics lab at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. This lab will be called as Centre of Excellence (CoE) which will promote research involving network robotics, advanced communication technologies and Artificial Intelligence. In a press release, Nokia said " Nokia will share its expertise in next-gen network innovation and leverage Nokia bell labs technical expertise in robot archestration, robot network controller and human-robot interaction to aid the research and development of the end-to-end use case technology solutions. IISc will engage its cross-disciplinary faculty and researchers and provide its in-house expertise in algorithms, drones and robotic systems" . The CoE research also includes remote management of agricultural orchards to promote water conservation and avoid human contact with pesticide using drones.
4. ASUS ZEPHYRUS G14 LAUNCHED IN INDIA.
Asus Zephyrus G14 has launched in various variants all having 14 inch screen. The difference is in it's resolution and refresh rate. These laptops are powered by AMD Ryzen 4000 series processor with GTX and RTX graphic cards respectively. The highlight of this laptop is that it comes with Animated Matrix display which is customizable. The price of Asus Zephyrus G14 starts at INR 98,990/- . There is a cheaper variant at INR 80,990/- which lacks the matrix display at the back.
5. KIA SONET, A SMART COMPACT SUV HAS LAUNCHED IN INDIA.
The Smart Compact Kia Sonet SUV is offered in two petrol and one diesel variants: 1.2L engine and a powerful 1.0 T-GDi and 1.5L CRDi diesel engine. Both automatic and manual transmission models are launched. Cars offers various features like voice assistant which can give access to your phone calls, weather information , media control, climate of the Sonet and many more. It comes with safety features like 6 airbags, ABS, parking sensors, projected fog lamps, Tyre pressure monitoring system, automatic headlamps etc. with 57 other features. The price of the Sonet ranges from 7 lacs to 12 lacs.
6. GOOGLE DISPLAYS THEIR NEW PIXEL 4A IN US.
On August 5, 2020, Google announced their Pixel 4A smartphone which again comes with incredible cameras. This phone is powered by Snapdragon 730G processor, 5.8 inch FHD+ dot notch AMOLED display. It comes only in one variant: 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM with one black color variant option. The price of this phone in US is $349 and will soon be launched in India.
7. REALME V5 LAUNCHED IN CHINA.
The highlight of this Realme V5 is its Mediatek Dimensity 720 Chipset which brings 5G under INR 20,000/- . Other specifications include 48MP quad camera setup at rear and 16MP selfie camera at front and 5000 mAh battery. It brings 6.5 inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with 90 Hz screen refresh rate. In China, price starts from 1,499 Yuan (INR 16,110/-) and is speculated to launch in India soon.
